Clean-title used inventory at franchise and independent stores flows largely through Manheim lanes and, increasingly, ACV Auctions' app-based wholesale. Why the directory tracks them:
- Manheim sets the wholesale reference price (MMR). A dealer's asking price minus MMR minus visible reconditioning is their gross — legitimate, but negotiable.
- ACV attaches professional condition reports (paint meter, undercarriage, OBD, engine audio) to each wholesale unit — reports the retail buyer can ask to see.
- Both platforms are dealer-only; their reliability is industry-established, and their data is the leverage a retail buyer can borrow.
Scorecard tie-in: listings that share wholesale condition reports on request earn the vehicle-disclosure credit.
